Masonic
To-Do List
Now that you
are a mason, just going to lodge meetings is not the only thing you are asked to
do.
We made
promises in our oaths and obligations, and thru the ceremonies and working tools we
have learned what directions we are to head in our life.
If you
remember the degrees, the first was to get rid of rough edges, then the second
made us into perfect ashlers thru the plumb, square, and level, and the third
set us to find out where we fit best for the builders use. We already know that this process can take
many years to a lifetime of work.
We know our
creator has a plan for each of us. We
need to improve ourselves to be able to take advantage of those plans. We have all heard the phrase, “He was in the
right place at the right time.” The same
thing applies to what can happen when we are in a place to be the “right
person, at any time a need may arise”.
So lets
outline our personal to-do list from all of this work.
We should as
Masons be constantly improving ourselves to be ready for whatever place the
Builder has for us.
We can break
it down to these areas:
Personal
Growth
Reading
regularly, especially self help or skills like new language, communication,
working on personal projects.
Productivity
Focus on
job, school or tasks that need done, but make sure to take breaks
Wellness
Exercise
regularly, key habits are consistency, flexibility, self care(don’t be hard on
yourself)
Here is a
daily guide you may want to use.
Monday -Goal
setting for week, keep an actual journal of plans for week, include personal,
family, work
Tuesday-physical
health and wellness
Wednesday-learning
and skill development, read, take online course, youtube videos
Thursday-social
skills, communication(active listening, speaking clearly), reach out to a friend,
masonic brother
Friday
analyze how your week went and time spent, dedicate a uninterrupted time for
major task
Saturday
creativity and hobbies, something creative, try something new(cook something
new, learn craft, go on hike)
Sunday rest
and spend time with God and your family.
Success is being
flexible, don’t be too rigid, life happens.
Small wins,
small incremental improvements over time.
Celebrate
progress no matter how small.
Consistency,
repeat over time.
